It's that time of year again, and that means it's time to spread the word about some great haunts that are using our effects.

First up this year is Kersey Valley Spookywoods in Archdale, NC. It's already been open since September, and they're open Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week and Thursday-Sunday through Halloween weekend, then November 6,7, and 13 to close out the season. Ticket booth opens at 7:30. Check their website for more details and closing times, as they vary depending on the date. They've been on numerous Top Haunt lists, and looks like for good reason! After Haunt season is over, they'll be converting the Manor House into Kersey Valley Escape. Spookywoods has been haunting Archdale since 1985. That's a lot of scaring! There are multiple scare zones and attractions, too. When you're at the Manor, don't forget to look up. You might see some familiar specters looking back at you!

A Dark and Stormy Night $25
Add some rainy ambiance with our seamless looping thunderstorm, with rain and lightning! This effect includes both landscape, great for front or rear projection, as well as a portrait version, great for use in a TV rotated longways.
Ghosts In The Graveyard $30
Lonesome spirits rise from forgotten graves. Extend the scope of your graveyard set by front or rear projecting our seamless looping digital backdrop on a wall or screen at the rear of your set.
Evil Clown Town $30
The circus is in town and the Merry Go Round is about to break down. Our seamless looping digital mural is the ultimate projected backdrop for clowning around.
We are thrilled to announce that, after many months of hard work, our new Virtual Reality Experience for the Oculus Rift System is now available on the Oculus Share site.
After falling asleep in Psych 101 class, you experience the phobias being discussed in the educational film you were watching. Are you ready to face your fears? We are also hard at work on our next collection of Spectral Illusions Effects, to be released this Summer!
The fog has settled, the Trick or Treaters have gone home, and everything is safely packed away for next year. Well, maybe not all of it. Here at Spectral Illusions headquarters, we can't admit Halloween is over. Some great customers have submitted pictures and video of our effects in use in their haunts and we're thrilled to be able to show them all to you. If you haven't sent yours in yet, you still can. Richard and Julie Yates of Southern California sent in a picture and video of Daisy the Ghost Bride and Waking the Dead in their haunt.
Daisy is set inside their window, an excellent way to hide the projector.
Waking the Dead was displayed inside an ice chest, a inventive hiding place for him. This was their first year to use projection effects. We're looking forward to seeing what they come up with in the future!
Brian Willes of Nightmare on Hickory Lane also in Southern California created a very impressive Pepper's Ghost display featuring Phantom Wraith. No wonder people came back to ask how it was done!
Oscar Alvarez DelaCuadra of Mexico sent this great picture of Daisy projected on a shaped form. If you ever wanted to know what kind of difference a couple of yards of tulle makes to add dimensionality to her form, here you go!
User Defenestrator from HalloweenForum.com sent this video including Restless Spirit at about 1:23 and Ghostly Hearse at around 2:05. They made an excellent addition to a skeleton themed haunt.
If you ever wanted to use a video effect, but didn't think you had the space, check out this project from Showcase Displays. They posted this gem on their Facebook Page. Using a smartphone in a darkened environment makes a surprising addition to your Halloween, and it can fit on a tabletop!
Finally, if you're looking for a good tutorial for Pepper's Ghost, especially for use in small spaces, check out this one on Instructables from Wall.O.Ween Halloween Yard Haunt. It is very detailed and well written.

One of our favorite haunts in Los Angeles is opening tonight! LA Live Steamers' Ghost Train in Griffith Park will be open Oct 17-19, 24-26,and 30-Nov. 2. They are open from 7-10, and they're amazing! Ride a train and see some great haunting! It's their annual fundraiser, so check it out!
